Chief Product Officer
Bernard began working with warehouse inventory management systems in 1996 at a hardware, lawn, and garden center wholesaler. Back then order fulfillment, shipping, and inventory management were all done manually, but the fundamental concepts remain unchanged. In 2015 he started working in the warehouse for Hugh’s apparel company and quickly moved into the logistics management team. Through a variety of manual, semi-automated, and fully automated processes, the logistics team was able to successfully manage 400 brands with over 3 million SKUs on 10+ sales channels. When Hugh began his new logistics software venture, based on the systems Bernard had developed expertise in, it was a natural fit to jump on board.
As Chief of Product at CommerceBlitz, Bernard brings extensive warehousing expertise and oversees all aspects of product vision, design, and development. In this pivotal role, he plays a central part in creating a robust and helpful product that not only fills a void in the market but also actively addresses customer pain points. His responsibilities encompass the meticulous management of details such as client feedback, ensuring a user-friendly experience (UX), and collaborating closely on feature development and the design process. By integrating customer insights and market needs, Bernard is instrumental in shaping products that not only meet but exceed user expectations. His commitment to understanding the evolving landscape of logistics and e-commerce positions him as a key driver in CommerceBlitz’s mission to provide innovative solutions to its clients.
Bernard’s multifaceted role extends beyond the technical aspects of product development. With a strong customer service background, he actively engages in client consultation and demos, ensuring that the final product aligns with the diverse needs of CommerceBlitz’s clientele. His hands-on approach, coupled with a deep understanding of both the technical and customer-facing aspects, contributes significantly to the success of the company.
